EPIC MASTERCLASS FROM THE PORTFOLIO OF BARON EDMOND DE ROTHSCHILD

Tickets £35 p/person

Baron Edmond de Rothschild wine tasting on WEDNESDAY 12th November 7pm-9pm

THE ROTHSCHILD FAMILY AND WINE History goes back to the 16th century. It really started in Germany middle of 18th. Five sons became partners in the family business. They set up branches in five European cities. The 5 arrows on the logo symbolise the 5 brothers at the origin of this entrepreneurial dynasty.

IF THE ROTHSCHILD NAME IS NOW SYNONYMOUS WITH WINE-MAKING EXCELLENCE, THAT IS BECAUSE WINE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FAMILY PASSION. A passion that dates back to James de Rothschild’s acquisition of Château Lafite in 1868. Edmond de Rothschild, who dreamed of owning an intimate and discreet vineyard that he could shape as he wished, later went on to acquire Château Clarke. And the Compagnie Vinicole was born. The Edmond de Rothschild family has ever since chosen to remain fully responsible for the production and distribution of its wines, from harvest to marketing. This is extremely rare in Bordeaux, reflecting a quest for uncompromising quality.

In 1997 Benjamin & Ariana de Rothschild gave a dramatic boost to the Compagnie Vinicole by exploring new terroirs around the globe. determined to apply traditional French expertise while maintaining local wine growing practices, they created joint-ventures with families that possessed the same entrepreneurial spirt and love of wine. South Africa, then Argentina and finally New Zealand. Vines planted around the world in virgin lands are now the source of internationally famous wines.

The tasting will be hosted by Immacolata Cannavo, the brand ambassador from Baron Edmond de Rothschild in the UK and Peter Tompkins from Goedhuis Waddesdon.
