GOLDEN STATE GEMS
CALIFORNIA WINE TASTING
Weds 25th November £35 pp
Starts at 6:30pm
We’ve got a rather special one coming up at Vineyards.
For one night only, we’re handing the floor – and six very good bottles – to Andrew Meltzer, Brand Ambassador for the Americas at Berkmann Wine Cellars, for a proper look at modern California wine.
Because California is a lot more interesting than big Chardonnay, big Cabernet and bigger sunshine. We’ll be travelling from the cooler, Pacific-influenced vineyards of Sonoma Coast and Monterey to Napa Valley, tasting six wines from some seriously good producers along the way.
ON THE NIGHT
Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Aveta Sauvignon Blanc
Lucia by Pisoni Estate Cuvée Chardonnay
Cobb Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Ridge Three Valleys
County Line Sonoma Coast Syrah
Buena Vista California Cabernet Sauvignon
There are some proper names in there… Stag’s Leap. Ridge. Pisoni. Cobb. Buena Vista. The bottles being opened on the night range from £26 to £90, to give you an idea.
Andrew knows this part of the wine world inside out, so alongside six glasses of excellent wine, expect the stories behind the bottles, a bit of geography, a bit of history and considerably more useful information than simply being told something has ‘notes of cassis’.
Very limited. First come, first served.
PLUS – as a tasting attendee, you’ll get exclusive discounted prices on the bottles on the evening…
